American National Social Network Survey
Interview Dates: July 31–August 11, 2020
The American National Social Network Survey includes an ego-centric social network battery modeled on the General Social Survey, to measure the composition and character of the public’s close social ties. The national survey of 4,067 adults was conducted online and over the phone using NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak panel. The survey includes measures on political and civic engagement, such as donating to a political campaign, contacting an elected official and whether respondents were encouraged to attend religious services or vote. The survey includes a variety of measures on racial attitudes, political compromise, views about diversity, and perceptions of discrimination against various racial and religious minorities.
